Washing through an Edmonton winter
Alberta doesn't use much rock salt any more — it uses magnesium chloride brine, which stays liquid at lower temperatures, clings harder, and keeps working on metal long after the road is dry. That's why a vehicle can look clean and still be corroding underneath.
Through winter the point of a wash isn't appearance, it's removal — every two to three weeks, with attention to the underside, wheel wells, and door sills where brine collects. Winter washes are done indoors so water doesn't freeze in the seams, and one decontamination wash in spring strips what the season left bonded to the paint.

Both. Our Essential exterior package is a straightforward hand car wash — full hand wash, wheels and tires, and exterior glass — from $49 for a sedan, $59 for an SUV, and $74 for a truck or seven-seater. It is a wash, priced as a wash, and we bring it to you.
How much is a car wash in Edmonton?
A drive-through or touchless tunnel in Edmonton runs about $10–25, and a self-serve bay $5–15 if you do the work. Is a touchless car wash bad for your paint?
Touchless washes won't scratch your paint, because nothing touches it — but they compensate with strong alkaline and acidic chemistry to lift dirt without contact, and that chemistry strips wax and sealant faster than any other wash type. If you have paid for a coating or a sealant, repeated touchless washing is quietly undoing it.
Are automatic car washes with brushes bad?
Soft-cloth tunnels are the main cause of the swirl marks you see under direct sunlight on a dark car. The cloth itself is fine; the problem is that it carries grit from every vehicle ahead of you and drags it across your paint. Once swirls are in the clear coat, only machine polishing removes them.
Can you wash my car in an underground parkade?
Yes. We use waterless and rinseless methods in parkades and condo stalls, where there is no drainage and an open wash isn't practical. Mention the parkade when you book so we arrive with the right setup.
How often should I wash my car in Edmonton?
Through winter, every two to three weeks — road brine is corrosive and the damage is cumulative, so the point is removing it rather than making the car look clean. In summer, every three to four weeks is enough for most vehicles. Book one decontamination wash each spring to strip the season's build-up properly.
Do you wash trucks, RVs, and fleet vehicles?
Yes. Trucks and seven-seaters are on the standard price sheet. RVs, motorhomes, semis, and fleet vehicles are quoted by hand because size and condition vary too much for a fixed rate — send the details through the quote form and we'll price it.
